Behance Research

Here a three reels that I found to be pretty interesting:

This one was pretty organized. The animation was video first thing you saw.Concept art, background art, and stills really gave you the feel of the different projects she works on. You can actually she how she planned it out even though in the animation the cameos of the character is pretty brief.

This was completely different. Its a little chaotic at first but after reading
this person page I realized it was for a show. So this would be
perfect for a pitch. I diffently get the feel of this show and shows every asset of the show down to the font, color, and humor style. This one is incredibly detailed. I really get a sense of
understanding even without look at the animation/show.

This one has impressive visuals. Even though this person is making a small
animation the stills keep making me think it is an actual animation.
It draws in the viewer visually even though the animation is in
prodcution.

Updated Calandar

Presentation Self Critique

A. For my critique today, I will present just my updated animatic. Which I really need feedback on and character sketches. I feel like Im a little behind, but I actually caught up a little this weekend. Hopefully that will continue

B. After doing this presentation, I never really fully realized how difficult it is to actually
talk about yourself. It sounds easy enough, but when actually getting up there and speaking
I came to a blank. The hardest thing for me was to get out what was in my head. Next time I will have more specifics to shoot out instead of just broad general terms. What I meant to say was that I like character narratives, and character emotions. Basically anything to do with a character development. Next time I will be a lot more specific and actually pinpoint things. Also I need to organize my words a little better. I noticed during the presentation I couldn't exactly find the right words to describe my work. I know how I want it to be but without disadvantaging myself. Basically next I need to figure out what i want and how i want to say it. Talking about yourself really shouldn't be this hard.

Calendar Updated

Fellowship

Brainstorm: For the fellowship, I was thinking in term of what exactly can I do. So I came to the conclusion that I would like a little of everything. What I mean by that is I would love it If i was able to apply to some sort of animation or media production company and work through experience. I know my knowledge is a little broad based but possible this fellowship can help channel some more areas of foccus. However, while I was thinking about it, I would like to go into more into the production process. My work tends to be narrative based, so it would be great to work a studio that develops animations or commercial work.

For the fellowship, I would like to travel to Europe to focus my energy on learning the animation industry. I imagine to work in visual production, or maybe concept art to help develop my skills and help learn more about working in an animation enviroment. In a way, it sounds like an internship but I view as more so a way gaining a foundation. I mean if they are willing to teach me than I am willing to learn.

Here some of places I'd like to go. Smaller independent animation places would be more ideal than the larger companies but the links below are just to get a general idea.

Places
London (they have a lot of small independent studios)
Hungary (studio Vargas)
France (they are pretty well known for their intricate animations)
Spain

Job Listings

http://www.productionhub.com/jobs/view.aspx?item=32898 ~ Running Pony
This job would be excellent for me to get a grounding in the actual industry. Since most media
jobs require some form of experience, this would be a great place to start. Although my 3D skills are pretty limited, I wouldnt mind giving this a shot.

Although I like animation, broadcoasting would be pretty interesting to try out. This is one of
few jobs that didnt require year of experience. Even in the description they will offer to train people which is a plus in my case.

This job didnt have a lot of information but being paid to do storyboards is sounds appealing.
Judging off the description, they are mostly looking for people to bring to life their story.
